Not much new… Mum has had a heavy workweek, but Dad has taken Liam out to stretch his little legs in the shady old town streets a couple of times, and we’ve been counting down to the weekend!!
We went into Monaco on Saturday morning to pick up a (used) exercise bike, which now resides on the terrace and will hopefully help us pedal off a kilo or two during naptimes. While in Monaco we bought Liam yet another pair of shoes (for his fat little hobbit feet), took him to the tiny Monaco zoo, and attempted (unsuccessfully) to get his Canadian passport photos re-taken. The Monaco zoo is a piddly depressing little thing, however, Liam was pretty excited to see the hippo!! And mum and dad enjoyed how worked up the lemurs got during feeding time! Map of the Zoo
Today, a beautifully sunny (and hot) Sunday… we took Liam for a walk in the woods in the Parc de la Valmasque near Mougins, about a 30 minute drive from Nice. A nice change of pace instead of going to the beach. He loved it, although mum got eaten up by all the mosquitos!! Daddy and Liam escaped unscathed, and Liam managed to walk most of the 1400 meter trail that we chose (although it was SLOW going as he stopped to investigate pretty much everything and anything). Bravo little dude! Map of Valmasque Parc
After our walk in the woods we took him up the road to EcoParc Mougins, an ecological centre with a fantastic children’s playground, under the shady trees. Map of Eco ‘Park
Liam loved it, riding the bouncey bugs, swings and ringing the gongs particularly. Afterwards we went to the pond for took an ice cream break and fed the resident duck!! Liam is really into ducks at the moment, they’re his new favourite animal (thanks to the book ‘Marmaduke Duck’ sent by Granny Simmons).
Weekend is almost over… can’t wait for the next one! 🙂
