Liam has been suffering some ongoing intestinal issues resulting in his getting up – and staying up – at 4am. Its thrown our schedule off somewhat so we weren’t able to get out and about too much this weekend though we did get up to Mt. Boron for a short walk which is a 10 min drive away. Mt. Boron overlooks Nice from the East side sitting between Nice and Villefranche-sur-Mer. On the top its quietly residential with large parts given away to wooded parkland and pathways. There are 2 old Castles up there, the triangular Fort Alban can be visited, the 2nd overlooking the sea is operated by the French Military and off-limits.

On Sunday we did a short trip to Parc de Vaugrenier at Villeneuve Loubet. We didn’t get out til the early afternoon due to Liam being up in the middle of the night again and didn’t stay long, but it was a surprisingly good park – lots of wooded areas, wide natural fields of long grass (some left wild), picnic areas, lots of walking and bike paths and a huge play area for toddlers. With so much variety we’ll definitely go back. Next time we’ll find the lake area and feed the ducks.
